Where can I park on campus?

There is very limited parking in both schools’ lots.  Most spaces are reserved for staff members. Therefore, the district asks students to walk, bike, or carpool if possible.  Please refer to our Student Travel Program page

Bacich:

– Please refer to our Student Travel Program page

– Drive-thru morning and afternoon Car Lines are staffed by parent volunteers.  There are Car Lines for both the Main Lot (green) and the Kindergarten Lot (blue). Car Line will be active beginning the second day of school.  Watch for details in your child’s backpack/electronic bulletin.

– There are a limited number of spaces along the fence in the Main (green) parent parking labeled “Bacich”. These spaces are especially useful when coming onto campus during school hours for volunteering.

Kent:

– You may park in a nearby neighborhood and walk to Kent via the bike path.  Please drive carefully and follow the restrictions detailed on parking signs.

– You may drive onto campus to drop-off in the morning.  The area in front of Room 34 has been reserved for drop-off.  Please keep the line moving as space is very limited and others will be waiting behind you. Even though it’s tempting please do not drop off your children in front of the library.

What opportunities are there for parents to volunteer?

There are many ways to be involved depending on your availability.  The PTA at Bacich and Kent have many options – Room Parent, Fun Lunch/ Lunch Bar, Playground Duty, Book Fair and many more.

Bacich sign up sheets will be available in the Quad the first day of school.   Look for more sign up sheets at Back to School Night.

Each school has a PTA Volunteer Coordinator. Feel free to contact him/her with questions about volunteering. Their contact information is listed on the PTA oficers & coordinators webpage, and read more about the PTA in our “Get to Know the PTA” letter. (coming soon)

How can I get a directory?

A school directory is created by the Kentfield Schools Foundation.  Any level of donation comes with a directory.

How do I find out about after school activities and sports?

The Greenbrae/Kentfield community does not have its own recreation department.  Below is a list of recreation departments and leagues in which our families typically participate. You can see more community non-profit group information in our Community Bulletin Board.

Ross Recreation – www.rossrecreation.org

Larkspur Rec Department  – www.ci.larkspur.ca.us

Kent Middle School does offer some after school sports programs as well. More information will be provided to students at school.

This list is not exhaustive. We encourage you to work with your children to pursue after school activities. Please consider registering early as many activities fill-up quickly.

What are Fun Lunch and Lunch Bar?

The PTA organizes lunch programs at each school.  Fun Lunch is the Bacich program and Lunch Bar is Kent’s. These programs serve as fundraisers for the PTA and are completely optional.

At the beginning of each semester, the PTA distributes information explaining what will be served each day and how to sign up.  In the past, menus included pizza, burritos, pasta, and chicken teriyaki.

To sign up for either of these programs you will need to fill out an order form.

The success of Fun Lunch/Lunch Bar depends on having an adequate number of parent volunteers. Volunteering typically entails committing to a shift every other week, 11:30-1:00 on a specific day.  Parents are asked to volunteer when signing up their child.

Is there on-campus daycare?

Marin Enrichment offers care before and after school.  For more information, call Susan Sanders at 461-4395.
