Kent Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week is coming May 1-5, 2017! It’s going to be a fun-filled week of activities to show our staff & teachers how much we appreciate all they do for our children every day!
The last 8 years have been hugely successful, and the teachers have been so thrilled by the outpouring of thoughtfulness and thanks from our kids and from us. Below is a menu of appreciation planned for this year:
MONDAY
Decorate the teachers’ lounge, bring flowers to the lounge, front office & resource center, set-up a breakfast buffet, including juice & coffee, in the teachers’ lounge & resource center. Deliver notes & letters from students & parents to teachers & staff. Stream homemade video project by Kent students during morning announcements.
TUESDAY
Deliver Cinco de Mayo snacks to the teachers’ lounge & resource center, and supervise Chalk Notes in the various quads. Students interested in writing a note to his or her favorite teacher(s) on the blacktop may sign up on Sign Up Genius: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/20F0B44ACA82EA3F85-kent1
WEDNESDAY
Taco Truck party at Kent Middle School for the teachers & staff. Fun-filled pinatas for teachers to whack in the quad, and homemade desserts provided by parents. Deliver notes & letters from students & parents to teachers & staff. Stream homemade videos produced by the 8th graders during morning announcements. THURSDAY
Deliver more breakfast items to the teachers lounge & resource center. Stream homemade videos produced by 8th graders during morning announcements, and distribute notes & letters from students & parents to teachers & staff.
FRIDAY
Deliver snacks to teachers lounge & resource center. Deliver a small gift to every teacher & staff member. Stream homemade videos produced by 8th graders during morning announcements, and distribute notes & letters from students & parents to teachers & staff.

- Donate on Crowdrise to help to pay for the Taco Truck party with live music and a small gift for teachers & staff members. We raised $5000 last year and hope to raise the same amount this year. Donations received last year averaged $25 per family, but any size contribution is greatly appreciated and put to good use.
