GENERAL INFORMATION
Q: What is the Lunch Program?
The Lunch Program has two components: (1) KSPTA Pizza Day and (2) The LunchMaster Program. Children in Grades 1 through 8 have the opportunity to purchase hot lunches through The LunchMaster online ordering system every day except Wednesdays during the school year. In addition, KSPTA will continue to offer Jamba Juice at Bacich and Kent, as well as other snacks at Kent.

Q: What is KSPTA Pizza Day?
On Fridays at Kent and Bacich (for grades 1-4), KSPTA offers a pizza lunch to students. In addition, children are given organic fruit & vegetables (unless not available), and offered organic 1% milk and non-fat chocolate milk. Pizza Day orders, like all other lunch days, may be ordered using The LunchMaster online ordering system. Please go to www.TheLunchMaster.com, click “register” and enter school code bacichelem (for Bacich students) or kentmiddle (for Kent students) to set up a LunchMaster account. For detailed instructions on how to set up an account, please click here.

Q: What is The LunchMaster Program?
The LunchMaster is an outside vendor that provides hot & cold entrees, a KSPTA Pizza Day, organic fruit & vegetable sides (unless not available), and organic 1% milk and non-fat chocolate milk for students in grades 1-8. The LunchMaster uses an online ordering system that can be customized to filter food allergies, food preferences (e.g., vegetarian meals) and offers up to 16 options each day.  You may order from The LunchMaster on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Please go to www.TheLunchMaster.com, click “register” and enter school code bacichelem (for Bacich students) or kentmiddle (for Kent students) to set up a LunchMaster account. For detailed instructions on how to set up an account, please click here.

Q: Will KSPTA still offer Jamba Juice at Bacich and Jamba Juice and other snacks at Kent?
Yes. Jamba Juice will still be offered on Friday at Bacich, and at Kent on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Jamba Juice pre-ordering occurs twice a year, separate from The LunchMaster orders. You can order through kspta.org’s online store.

Q: Are volunteers still needed to serve lunch?
Yes. Volunteers are necessary to help serve lunch on all days. As a “thank you,” volunteers receive one free lunch credit each time they volunteer to serve lunch (these volunteer credits cannot be redeemed for cash). The lunch credit will be added to the volunteer’s LunchMaster account. To volunteer, please contact Lauren Cargill lacargill@gmail.com.

Q: Does KSPTA raise money through the lunch program?
Yes. All lunch & Jamba Juice orders help KSPTA raise money for school programs.

Q: How does the KSPTA use funds generated from the lunch program?
After the KSPTA pays for all lunch-related expenses, 100% of the funds raised by the Kentfield Schools PTA are used to support Kentfield School District programs and activities. Historically, programs and activities supported have included:

◦ Teacher stipends for classroom supplies
◦ After school sports at Kent
◦ Mr. S dance class for Kindergarten classes
◦ Art supplies purchases
◦ Library book purchases
◦ P.E. and Music programs
◦ Performing arts programs
◦ Technology programs and computer equipment purchases
◦ Woodshop materials at Kent
◦ English Language Development and Resource Center Programs
◦ KSPTA Grants supporting Bacich and Kent

Q: Are there scholarships available for lunch? How do I request a scholarship?
Yes, scholarships are available. Please contact the Kentfield Schools District Office for more information. Families requesting a Lunch Scholarship may pick up applications at the Bacich or Kent school office or click HERE. Applications should be returned to the Kentfield Schools District Office at 750 College Avenue, Kentfield, CA 94904.

Q: Can Kindergarten students participate in the Lunch Program?
Kindergarten & Transitional Kindergarten (TK) students do not participate in the Lunch Program unless they qualify for a Lunch Scholarship. Families requesting a Lunch Scholarship may pick up applications at the Bacich or Kent school office or click HERE. Applications should be returned to the Kentfield Schools District Office at 750 College Avenue, Kentfield, CA 94904.

Q: Does my child need to bring the lunch ticket that is emailed to me after I order?
Yes. When you child has a lunch ticket, it helps the volunteers identify which lunch you have ordered for your child and allows the lunch line to move faster. If your child does not have a ticket, they will wait until all students with tickets are served; then volunteers will check for your child’s name & order on the list of all students who have ordered lunch that day. If you need another copy of your lunch ticket, please contact LunchMaster at LMadmin@thelunchmaster.com or call customer service 855/565-8624 (select option 2).

Q: I did not receive a lunch ticket when I ordered.  How do I get a lunch ticket?
If you placed an order and didn’t receive an email with a PDF of lunch tickets, you can email LMadmin@thelunchmaster.com or call customer service 855/565-8624 (select option 2).

Q: Should students bring reusable lunch containers for their food?
LunchMaster will provide entrees & sides (e.g. fruits, vegetables) in single-serve disposable containers, but if you would like your child to bring home leftovers, sending him or her to school with a reusable lunch container is the easiest way to do so.

Q: What is LunchMaster’s policy regarding cancellation of an order?
If you cancel an order, and whether you receive credit on your LunchMaster account for that order, depends upon when you cancel that order. To receive full credit for a cancelled order, you must cancel that order before 4 p.m. the business day before the lunch is to be served. Cancellations received after 4 p.m. on the business day before lunch, and before 7 a.m. the day of the lunch, will receive 50% credit. No credit will be given by LunchMaster for orders cancelled after 7 a.m. the day of the lunch service.
